Located near to Narbonne, the Lastours estate is first and foremost a winery, but it recently it opened its 90km of tracks and its dedicated 4x4 test centre, all of which is available on reservation. Come here for the chance to drive through a magical landscape of vines and vibrant nature. If you have any doubts about the technical level of the routes on offer, you can rest assured: rally raid vehicles are often brought here to be tested and refined.

Off-road Park, Germany
Located in Bavaria, one of Germany’s most beautiful regions, the Offroad Park is a 10-hectare site dedicated entirely to 4X4 off-road driving. The site offers lots of different free ride options (from 25€ per day) for all vehicle types, following a preliminary registration. All of the classical challenges of off-road driving are present and correct on this adventurous, rugged landscape.

Lake District National Park, UK
This national park in the north of the UK is overflowing with stunning landscapes and a whole range of 4X4 off-road tracks. You can come with your own vehicle or rent one nearby from specialist agencies. Make sure you don’t forget to get your temporary permit before you set out on your adventures.

Located in Alsace, the Steinbourg estate is open every weekend upon reservation to 4x4 drivers, although it is closed on the last weekend of every month. It stretches over 20 hectares and offers different driving zones for different difficulties and abilities, and for all types of off-road vehicles.

Château de Chérimont, Belgium
Dominating the Meuse valley, the Château de Chérimont is surrounded by an estate of over 40 hectares. Its 4x4 tracks are open upon reservation to clubs coming with a minimum of 5 vehicles. Its routes through the forest and over challenging mud terrain have made it a unique place for adventure driving and, as such, numerous races and competitions are held here throughout the year.

Between Barcelona and Andorra, in the rugged, mountainous regions in the north of Spain, the Bassella estate has an impressive 200 hectares available for 4x4 driving, provided you bring your own vehicle. It’s also a great setting-off place for excursions with their specially trained coaches.

Could there be anything more exhilarating than driving across the volcanic landscapes surrounding Mount Etna, Europe’s highest volcano? Lots of tracks will let you climb and race over the mountain, and even give you the chance to access certain authorised craters. You also have the choice of renting a 4x4 at nearby Catania or Taormina.
Of course, Europe is brimming with lots of other places dedicated to off-road driving. And if what you're searching for is freedom, don’t forget that many countries have quite liberal legislation regarding track driving, such as in Turkey where you can explore the sumptuous landscapes of Cappadocia, or in Greece where you can discover the exciting terrain surrounding the towns of Ioannina and Parga.
