For the third year running, BFGoodrich® is supporting Delphine Bichoffe and Christine Hunka at the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles, from March 16th to 31th in Marocco!

Both will be getting to grips with the sandy trails of the Moroccan desert, starting from Nice (France) and ending at Essaouria (a coastal city down south). A 100% all-woman rallye-raid adventure that our "gazelles" will be tackling for the 10th time…

Last year they achieved a 3rd-place podium finish in the Expert category. This year, for their 10th rallye, they have their sights firmly set on winning. More motivated than ever, Delphine and Christine have taken their preparations to new lengths - technically, physically and mentally - for this new edition of the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles.

They will come face to face with the dunes of Mergouza and awesome expanses of the Moroccan desert. They also will be crossing majestic landscapes and cities such as Tangiers, Meknes, Oulad Driss and Foumzguid, before crossing the finishing line in Essaouira.

The Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles: intense preparation, a real sense of elation

In order to get prepared, they went in the Moroccan desert by the end of January. With good results. "We performed well, particularly thanks to more consistent straightforward driving. It made us realize that we could drive straight ahead much more, so keeping a straighter course in the sand-dunes," was how they summed it up. Better and more accurate navigation, and more direct team communication… are the other keys to success, according to Delphine et Christine.

The week of trial runs out in the desert was also the opportunity to further test their BFGoodrich® KO2 tires. It confirmed the tire's versatility and rugged resistance as, for the first time, our Gazelles did a whole lot of driving through mud. And their verdict: "comfortable and very much at home on all terrains… these tires are a great asset for our rallye."

Yet the Rallye des Gazelles is above all else a human adventure, full of surprises where emotions run high. A back-to-the-source race with GPS-free navigation driven exclusively off-trail. Over 300 participants from the world over share these same values. Delphine Bichoffe and Christine Hunka, despite their long rallying experience, never forget the basics: "good sporting spirit, solidarity and sharing between women-folk in a happy and convivial atmosphere," exclaimed the two women.

BFGoodrich® is once again proud to be supporting them for this new edition and wishes them the best of luck. Not to mention a beautiful experience and adventure as they continue to roll back their limits.
