F1 pit-stop style help from the whole team at closing time!
Been meaning to leave a review for this tyre shop since they helped me out on 19th July.
I was on a euro road trip in my 718 Cayman GTS4.0 and had picked up a stone somewhere between Switzerland and Italy that was caught between a brake disc and the brake-shield. It was making a horrendous squealing sound at low speeds and I was worried about what disc-scoring damage it might be creating at higher speeds on the roads.
I was meeting up with 20 other UK Porsche owners on the Friday 19th and was ‘tracking’ them via WhatsApp location sharing to rendezvous with the group near Pinerolo.
As I turned off the SP23 (Westbound) to turn around and be ready for the group travelling Eastbound, by pure luck I passed Bolla Pneumatici and quickly ‘dived in’ - it was 17:30 local time and the shop looked about ready to close.
Fortunately the front desk staff (a wonderfully helpful and enthusiastic young lady who spoke perfect English thankfully!) understood my problem and quickly got a tyre-technician to listen as I pulled the car forward and back to hear the screeching noise.
He (another wonderfully helpful member of staff) immediately directed me in to one of the bays and up on a ramp and within seconds identified the front left wheel as the culprit.
Mere moments later the wheel was off and 2 other guys were providing torches and a large screwdriver with which to locate the stone and gently prize the heat shield away from the disc upon which the stone dropped to the floor.
Meanwhile 2 other guys were checking the tyre pressures and wheel nut torques on my other 3 wheels. I truly felt like I was getting a race team pitstop treatment with all 6-7 members of staff around my car helping.
I literally gave the guy who got the stone out a hug! And thanked everyone in the shop. And when I asked how much I needed to pay the incredibly helpful young lady declined to take my money, so I promised to post this 5-star review.
This shop and its staff were 5🌟 F1 pit stop helpful and I am so grateful they worked as hard as they did for 10-15 minutes to save me from a further 1000km of screeching wheels and potential brake disc damage.
AND - I was back on the road in time ready to meet up with the other cars arriving from the UK too 😁👍🏻
